"How to Outrun Maniacs in 5 Simple Lessons"

I'm honestly too tired to have much to say tonight - the pumpkin spice posts are on hold until tomorrow, so much for that 12-step program - so this will be a short entry. Actually, it's just going to be a question:

What book could you not do without? (Feel free to make up your own situation. Stranded on a beach, locked in a cell, outrunning a crazed foot fetishist. Your call.)

Till tommorrow!

English majors that I've run into chastise me for this pick, but I think I could reread Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert over and over and find something new to learn every single time. I feel like a traitor not picking Austen or Shakespeare or something. And in the case of the foot fetishist, I think I would give up the book for a good pair of Nikes.

Right now I am currently obsessed with Geek Love by Katharine Dunn. I've read it a million times recently.

Other than that, I can't think of anything besides my Harry Potter books. They are my go to books when I have nothing better to do.

This is probably going to sound unbelievable dorky but probably the Norton Shakespeare. That, or the Anthology of American Literature. Only because they're the two books I can think of off the top of my head that contain several stories I could enjoy.

The Hobbit. I've read it at least 50 times, and I know I could read it at least 50 more. My favorite book of all time. Other books come close, but nothing beats it.

I washed out of Nablopomo two weeks ago and I'm still rending my garments in despair.
